Floral Container Gardening

In his newsletter, P. Allen Smith talks about container gardening, especially nice for those that live in a condo or an apartment with very limited yard or deck space.  I am in Florida, East coast, mid state and I can grow most any sort of flower or herb in a container (Blue Daze pictured above), the trick is you have to water every single day, unless it rains. 

P. Allen Smith gives lots of tips and flower types that do well in container gardening.  He has it all in this article, the only step I do not do that he suggests is fertilize.

Father's Day Printable Coupons, Free PDF Downloads

It has been a while since I have designed any free printable downloads, so this morning I designed two sets of coupons for Father's Day.   Select the style from links below and click to download the PDF.  Print on cardstock or plain printer paper. 

Even if the kids already have a gift picked out, you can still print these great colorful coupons and slip them in with the card. 

There are no borders/lines, so each one looks perfect after cutting out.  Use the edges of the colored tabs as a guide and cut straight across the paper.  If you do not have precision cutter, simply use a ruler and pencil to lightly mark the back before cutting to ensure a straight cut.  Enjoy!

Homemade Beauty Recipe, Apple & Sweet Syrup Facial Masque

Ingredients: 

• 1 apple (high in antioxidants and other nutritious nutrients), peeled, cored and quartered

• 1tbs maple syrup; agave or rice syrup (softens, smooths skin)

• sprinkle of sage (natural antibacterial)

Directions:

• In the blender, pulse the apple, drizzle in syrup, add sage.

• Slather the mixture on face and neck, leave masque on for 5-10 minutes, tissue off the bulk, rinse with warm water, pat skin dry. 

• If too runny, add a touch of oatmeal to thicken.
